flea market finds
Hello again lovely meme. Yesterday I thrifted and I found....
...two retro floral print pillow cases for 20c each, which joined my collection , some of which smelt a little nanna-ish so they all had a wash and dried in the sun, which then got drenched in last nights rain. I have plans for these babies... a summer patch work quilt cover perhaps...? ...three wooden wool spools. I have some ideas for these too!

And the piece de resistance.... yet another crochet blanket I head you say. But... this one was so pretty. and lightweight. and just $5. and well-made it was. See - I did need another one hehe. Do you talk yourself into buying things too?
Do go see other thrifted goodies over at Her Library Adventures.
a change
I was one of those kids who would get bored and whip everything from my bedroom shelves and happily while away the hours sorting, rearranging, organising and shifting my books and ornaments.
Well... not much has changed I guess! This week all visable shelves and table tops in the house are getting a much needed fresh look. aaaaaaand I didn't stop there - I thought I would freshen up my blog too.
I do like it. I like most things in duck egg blue or subdued aqua these days. I hope you like it too!

Bits and pieces...
I have finished crocheting the main section of the baby quilt. Just sewing all those hundreds (!) of woolen lengths in now. Next I will add a scalloped border. I don't know about you but when I have a work in progress it spreads itself across each surface in a 10m radius. I decided I'd had enough of my messy WIP ways, and put this basket into action.
This little wooden doll is mine after months of looking for a cute Kokeshi!

Autumn at our house
We have been watching golden, red and brown leaves fall and cover our garden floor. The cat prefers not to walk on the crispy leaves, whereas I like that crunching sound.
We are hoping that this dust bowl section of our front 'lawn' recovers when the rains come.
The Boy, his friends and my dad are building a front fence and gate. We cannot wait! We have so many exciting plans for some raised bed veggie gardens out back, paving to get rid of the back lawn (I am so completely over lawn), and the best discussion has involved...wait for it.... chooks. Lucy the cat liked that idea the best!
I hope you are enjoying the colours Autumn brings, too. x

flickr: green hues
How slow am I? I only just realised i could save my favourites in flickr. Now i really love flickr. I can certainly while a good hour (or more...) away peering at gorgeous photos, skipping from one photographers snaps then to another via their 'favourites'. Here are some yummy greenish hue finds.

My Creative Space
Who doesn't love a trip to Bunnings? I remember trips with dad on Saturday when I was younger, I always enjoyed Bunnings. So much great stuff to look at... i love looking at the plants, but I especially enjoy selecting those little paint colour cards. I always seem to leave the store with a stash 5 cm thick in my pocket. This stash was obtained this afternoon and inspired by the pastel colours Dottie Angel delights my senses with in each of her posts. I'd like to call her the 'Queen of rainbow pastels'.
And after all that - I don't have any clue what I will do with them. Perhaps I will simply be inspired by their pastel splendour. Yes, i think that's all I will do :)

Flea Market Finds
I am joining in with Her Library Adventures Flea Market Finds meme for the first time today - yay!
:
Is it allowed if I didn't even need to leave the house to score these buttons??? They did come from a thrift store however. My mum works in a beautiful one and she finds treasures for me all the time - she knows just what I like and grabs the good stuff first. Are you jealous? hehe
:
Today mum surprised me with buttons, bobbins and some fancy packaged needles.

local laundromat
I drive past a laundromat daily and often think of a time when it would have been bustling with customers. I decided to have a look inside today and really liked the plain walls, the fact that it is still open 24/7, the number of books on the table ...and floor (mostly romance novels hehe) and the possibility that people still meet here.

My Creative Space
I have been happily crocheting any spare time away this week while watching TV - loving Brothers & Sisters these days.I now have 20 grannies in baby girl colours.
I got stuck into making the cream border around the purple squares last night. I love how quickly the squares grow when you add the border.
Here is Lucy and her long rabbitty back legs last night..... I do love when she tucks her face into her front paws!
Do head over to Kootoyoo to read some lovely Creative Spaces.
Thank you for stopping by! :)

What the rain brings...
A visit from one lovely friend this past weekend led to the inaugural beginning of 'craft season'. There just must be such a thing as 'craft season' ... for me it hits the moment it's rained more than 2 times in one week. It has sparked a whole bunch of crafting enthusiasm just in the past 24 hours!!!
Last night I started to crochet a granny square blanket for a friend's baby girl who came into the world last weekend. I used this nice photographic tutorial by Sarah London to remind me what to do. The number of times I ripped the whole thing apart and tried out various numbers of corner and height chains was quite ridiculous. But all is sorted now. height chain =3. corner chain=2. The fresh morning air today saw me getting RSI and wool-burn as 9 more squares were crocheted.
